Despite some spectacular plays all game plus a late-game, two-touchdown comeback, Fairfield fell just short last Friday night in an away match with Princeton, losing 28-27.
Down most of the game and losing 28-14 with just over 6 minutes to go, the Indians — perhaps inspired by the enthusiasm of The Tribe — roared back, first with a 19-yard TD run by sophomore quarterback Talon Fisher, and then a 21-yard fumble recovery and TD return by senior defensive lineman Jonelle Lattimore less than two minutes later.
However, the Vikings hung on to clinch the win.
Fairfield returns to Alumni Stadium Friday for a conference game against Hamilton. It is also Band Night.
