The night was a success!
The Fairfield varsity volleyball team not only beat Colerain Tuesday night in an epic 5-set, come-from-behind battle, the Indians also held its annual Fairfield Leads the Fight volleyball match to help raise money to battle cancer.
This year’s fundraising focus was to raise money in support of West Elementary principal Missy Muller to help her find a bone marrow match. To raise money, there was a bake sale, shirt sale, basket raffle and split-the-pot.
The match began with a rose ceremony. Each player from both teams took a flower and delivered it to a person in the crowd who had been involved in some way with cancer. That ceremony included a flower for Principal Muller, who also appeared in a special video presentation on the scoreboard.
Showing up in support of the evening was a vocal Tribe student section.
