Senior Wrestlers Honored

Three Fairfield wrestlers were recognized recently on Senior Night for their grappling careers.
Each wrestler was introduced to the crowd along with either family members or a coach.
The three student/athletes being honored were:
  • Rachel Elizondo, who has wrestled since 5th grade and just recently placed third in the state for girls wrestling, will play soccer for Indiana University East, where she will study criminal justice.
  • Damir Williams, who has wrestled since 6th grade, plans to go to Cincinnati State to major in exercise science.
  • Lane Abrams, who has wrestled for three years, finished second at sectionals last year and is a likely state qualifier this year, plans to go to trade school to become an electrical power lineman.
Williams and Abrams will wrestle at sectionals at Lakota East this weekend.
The boys wrestling team is coached by Blair Wilcocks. The girls wrestling team is coached by John Meyer, Dan Schmidt, and Dwight Pringle.
