As the year comes quickly to an end, so does the high school career of five Fairfield boys volleyball players.
Jacob Burg, Neo Guyer, Gerald Kerkula, JJ Rennekamp, and Michael Swanson were honored last Thursday during a pregame ceremony. Each boy was accompanied by their families to the middle of the court, while their friends and fans cheered loudly.
The Indians then went on to defeat that night’s foe in three sets, beating Edgewood, 25-9, 25-22, and 25-18.
Also recognized during the match were team managers Molly O’Shea and Brooke Rouse.
The Indians, coached by Chris Hubbard, finished tied for 4th and 5-3 in the GMC, and are currently 7-10 with three non-league matches left in the regular season.
