The Fairfield girls soccer team needed a confidence-builder after starting the season 1-4-1.
They got a double booster shot of it Tuesday night, as the Indians JV team first thrashed Princeton, 9-0, and then, in the nightcap, the varsity also thumped the Vikings, 7-0.
Before the game, Coach Steve Thomas advised his team to, “Go out, score some goals, and have some fun.” That is exactly what they did. Scoring two apiece were juniors Mya Love and Kyra Posey, while senior Maddie Riga, junior Olivia Stroud, and freshman Leaha Compton each scored one.
Fairfield returns home to Christy Rose Dennis Stadium both Thursday night against Colerain (7:15 p.m.) and Saturday afternoon against Springboro (2 p.m.).
