Thrilling Finish to Game, Fairfield Career

Senior Trio Celebrates!

A buzzer-beating layup to snatch a 49-47 victory was the perfect way to celebrate three Fairfield seniors’ last home basketball game.

A.D. Givens, Breyel Kidd, and Kylee Booker were honored on Senior Night before the Colerain-Fairfield girls varsity game on Feb. 1. The trio was introduced to the crowd and walked to center court with their family.

After Myka Richardson scored the winning basket on a play that started with two seconds remaining, the crowd erupted and rushed the court to celebrate. The senior trio then was honored one last time, as Kidd, Booker and Givens rang the Victory Bell.

Kidd scored 13 points and had two rebounds, three assists and three steals. Booker had 5 points and one assist. Givens had one rebound and one assist.

Kidd intends to go to college to major in physical therapy and business. Booker intends to go to Northern Kentucky University to major in nursing. Givens is undecided on a major, and is looking at UC-Blue Ash or Miami-Hamilton.

The Indians, coached by Carl Woods, finished the regular season 6-10 in the GMC and 11-11 overall. They open postseason play at 6 p.m., Thursday, against Lebanon at Lakota East High School.
