Back on Track Fairfield girls soccer crushes Hamilton, Ross

Fairfield girls soccer has hammered out a decisive two-game win streak after starting the season 0-4-1 and losing four straight!

The now 2-4-1 Indians first beat GMC foe Hamilton, 8-0, last Thursday, with seven different players scoring. That home victory included Olivia Stroud (2), Leaha Compton, Mya Love, Kyra Posey, Sofia Rocchetta, Alayna Townsend, and Taylor Ziegler. Stroud also had an assist for a total of 5 points that evening.

On Saturday, Fairfield toppled Ross, 4-1, also at home. Stroud scored two more, with Ziegler and Delaney Burdine putting one each in the nets.

Stroud, a senior, is currently third in the GMC with five goals and 11 overall points. Rocchetta is in 4th overall with 8 points.

Fairfield, coached by Steve Thomas, next hosts 4-0-1 first-place Mason on Tuesday at 7:15 p.m., at Christy Rose Soccer Stadium. The Indians are currently in a four-way tie for 4th place in the GMC at 1-1.
