It was close. Very close.
But, in the end, Fairfield’s football team did not make it into the endzone in the closing seconds, losing 21-14 to Mason last Friday night at Alumni Stadium.
The Indians either led or were tied with the Comets all game, until Mason scored with just 2:39 left in the game. The Indians made some dramatic plays, including a 68-yard kickoff return by Tyler George, but lost the ball on downs.
Senior QB Talon Fisher was 9/19/220 for one TD passing, while running 17/35 for one TD. Juseters Fataki led Indian rushers, running 7 times for 51 yards.
Noah King was 2/112, including a 97-yard TD reception, while Conner Moser was 3/56 with a 35-yard reception.
Dorian Soriano led all tacklers with 17 tackles and 1.5 tackles for loss. Gabe ross had 9 tackles.
The Indians are now 1-4 and head to 3-2 Hamilton on Friday to play the Big Blue.
