A Fond Farewell for Foursome – Girls basketball celebrates Senior Night

The season of Fairfield’s girls basketball team may have come to a close with a postseason loss, but the four graduating members of the Class of 24 will also have special memories of their Senior Night.

On Feb. 7, the Indians absolutely crushed Colerain, 54-19, led by seniors Myka Richardson, Kimberlin Samples, Anyla Ramey, and Da’Janaye Lattimore. Richardson and Samples led all scorers with points apiece, Ramey led both teams with six rebounds and three steals, and Lattimore scored five points and led the Indians with two assists.

The four seniors were introduced before the game along with their families and friends. Later, during the blowout win, all four players were subbed back into the game and a timeout was called. They used the moment to say goodbye to the crowd before being taken out again. After the game, the graduating foursome rang the Victory Bell, and then the whole team celebrated again, dancing with Coach Carl Woods out on the court.

The Indians finished the season in 5th place in the Greater Miami Conference with a 7-9 league record, and 9-14 overall.
