Football – Fairfield Football traveled to Montgomery on Friday night and left with a 56-13 victory over the Sycamore Aviators, moving the Indians to a 2-1 overall record, with a 2-0 record in the GMC. The Indians were led by Tyler George, who rushed 21 times for 193 yards and 4 touchdowns. Dominic Back was 14-22 and threw for 248 yards with a TD, while also carrying the ball for 118 yards and a TD. Axsel Rogers led the defense with 8 total tackles while Josiah Leonard and John Abramson each had 3 pass deflections. Fairfield is up for the Tri State Football Team of the Week (vote here: https://tristatefootball.com/2024/09/vote-team-of-the-week-week-3-5/), and Tyler George was also nominated for Player of the Week (vote here: https://tristatefootball.com/2024/09/vote-player-of-the-week-week-3-5/). Girls Volleyball – Fairfield Volleyball had a busy week with games on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and a tri match on Saturday.. The Indians fell on Tuesday at Talawanda before winning a thrilling 5 set match on Wednesday against Ross. The Indians swept Hamilton on Thursday night before splitting matches on Saturday, losing to Monroe and defeating Indian Hill. Fairfield Volleyball has two GMC matches this week, hosting Mason on Tuesday before heading to Princeton on Thursday.
Boys Soccer – Fairfield Boys Soccer had three contests this week, where they ended up 1-0-2. Fairfield traveled to Loveland on Tuesday and tied 1-1. On Thursday, Fairfield hosted Hamilton and came away with a 5-0 conference victory. Finally, on Saturday, the Indians hosted Milford and fought to earn a 2-2 tie. The Indians are back this week with two GMC matchups, hosting Mason on Tuesday before heading to Princeton on Thursday.
Girls Soccer – Fairfield Girls Soccer had a great week, going 2-0 with victories over Ross and Hamilton. On Tuesday night, the Indians jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead over the Ross Rams, before Ross eventually tied things back up. The Lady Indians had a late goal to eventually give them the 3-2 victory. On Thursday at Hamilton, Fairfield got off to a quick start and never looked back, beating Hamilton 8-0. The Lady Indians have two GMC matchups this week, at Mason on Tuesday before hosting Princeton on Thursday.
Cross Country – Fairfield Cross Country is off to a good start and has just 3 matches left until GMCs. Both the Boys and Girls programs had 100% at the race this week! Every student athlete either had a SB (season best) or PR (personal record). We had 30 runners for the boys team with 25 PR’s and 5 SB’s! The Girls had 14 runners with 9 PR’s and 5 SB’s! We are looking to take the momentum into this week and have another successful week at Troy for the first night race of the season.
Boys Golf – The boys golf team competed in the GMC tournament at Walden Ponds this past week. On day 2, we had our best team score of the season. The team finished seventh in the two-day event. Brady Compton shot 74-71 to finish t4 and was named first team all GMC!
Girls Golf – On Tuesday, the Lady Indians had a tri match with Mason and Fenwick. The Indians finished third and were led by Keyra Strauss and Luci Crutcher who both shot a 45. On Thursday, the Lady Indians finished second in a tri match with Sycamore and Oak Hills, where Luci Crutcher led the way with a 46. On Saturday, Fairfield competed in the Best of the West Tournament and finished in 3rd place out of 5 teams. Saturday night, the Lady Indians competed in the Viking Glow Ball Tournament and won! The Lady Indians begin the GMC Tournament this week on Tuesday.
