Softball Queens a Hit at Football Game Fairfield players recognized a few months later for reaching state

Fairfield’s state semifinalist softball team was honored between the first and second quarters last Friday of the Indians football game with Hamilton.
Since the season did not end until after the 2023-24 school year had ended, it was decided to recognize the team’s achievement in front of the student body and a home football crowd.
Fairfield, coached by Brenda Stieger, finished last season at 23-4, reaching the state tournament for the first time in 33 years. The Indians lost to the defending champion and fourth-ranked Austintown-Fitch Falcons in a Division I state semifinal at Akron’s Firestone Stadium.
