Fairfield came into last Friday night’s football game at Alumni Stadium hoping to get a notch in the win column, but at the end of the evening, the Indians are now looking forward to next week after losing 33-0 to Lakota West.
Fairfield was down 21-0 at the end of the first quarter and 28-0 at the half.
Fairfield fans, though, stuck around and loudly cheered the team on despite the lack of scoring.
Senior quarterback Talon Fisher ended the game 7/14 passing for 84 yards, plus ran 13 times for 41 yards. A’Shion Ruff was the leading receiver with 4 catches for 55 yards, including 1 for 27 yards.
Braeden Shanklin led all defenders with 14 tackles, 10 of them solo, and 1.5 tackles for loss. Marcos Tiderman had 6 solo tackles, one sack and 2 TFL. Gabe Ross had 7 tackles and 1 TFL, while Dorian Soriano had 8 tackles and Kane Fisher had 3 tackles, 1 sack, and 1.5 TFL.
The Indians, now 0-3, next play at 0-3 Lakota East on Friday. East lost to Princeton Friday, 30-16.
