Overtime Glory!  Football claws its way back to victory

Early in the game at Middletown last Friday, Fairfield fell behind 12-0. It felt like it might be the beginning of a long night, as the Middies moved with ease down the field.

However, luckily for the Indians, the juggernaut that is senior quarterback Talon Fisher swung into action, running 62 yards for the first of his 4 rushing touchdowns and a total of 307 yards, a 12.3 yard per carry average. Fisher then closed out the scoring with an 8-yard carry in overtime to clinch the game, 36-30.

Fisher also completed 4 passes for 26 yards with no interceptions.

Adding to the offensive push was senior Juseters Fataki with 7 carries for 62 yards, an 8.9 average.

Defensively, the Indians were led by Raymir Coney and Mason King, each with 10 tackles overall and 2 tackles for loss each. Tez Guinn had 9 tackles and 1 TFL.

Gabe Ross had 5 tackles, plus a crucial interception that broke up a Middletown drive.

In the overtime, Fairfield first held Middletown from scoring, and then Fisher made his winning plunge to secure the victory.

Fairfield, now 2-7 overall and 2-6 in the GMC, closes out the regular season against Colerain on Friday at Alumni Stadium. A plethora of seniors will be recognized during pregame and halftime, including football players, cheerleaders, dance team, marching band and student athletic trainers.
