Rally Round the Tribe Rocking Pep Rally Kicks Off Homecoming Weekend

A long Homecoming 2024 weekend began Friday morning with a raucous pep rally in the Fairfield High School Arena.
The entire student body gathered during first bell, grouped by grades. Each was given a glowstick as they entered, which, along with their cell phone flashlights, created an atmosphere of excitement.
First, each of the fall sports teams was introduced by announcer Mike Massie as they paraded into the arena.
A special video scoreboard appearance by former assistant principal Kareem Sanders started off the Spirit Stick competition; the crowd-inspiring role of Sanders, now a principal in Georgia, was taken over by teacher/football coach Matt Tyla, who fired up the crown and got each grade to see who could cheer the loudest.
A musical chairs contest was next held, followed by a special dance by a large group of Fairfield teachers, who dressed in Y2K fashions and bopped to Bye-Bye-Bye by NSYNC.
At that point, the Homecoming Court was introduced to the crowd, followed by a performance by the School Dance Team.
The pep rally ended with Coach Jason Krause exhorting the crowd to come cheer on the team tonight against Lakota East, and then a final playing of the school fight song by the marching band.
